The Ladies of STEM

What the Future Holds for Ladies in STEM

We believe that women and girls can and do excel in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

We are building a community to tell the stories of women in STEM, showcase Women’s STEM organizations, and provide a platform where ladies can help ladies succeed in STEM careers.

Scientists study everything from the particles that make up matter to structures that construct the universe. Science offers diverse fields of study, such as biology, botany, ecology, physics, chemistry, oceanography, geology, meteorology, and zoology.

Technology solves problems or performs specific functions by making, modifying, and using tools, machines, techniques, systems and methods of organization. Current technology usually involves computers, but technology has existed since humans learned to control fire.

Engineers apply scientific knowledge, mathematics and creativity to develop solutions to technical problems. There are many different types of engineers, including: biological, materials, civil, environmental, structural, electrical, computer, mechanical, aerospace, industrial, and nuclear.

Mathematicians create new models to understand and solve real-world problems. Mathematicians solve practical problems in fields such as business, government, engineering and the sciences.
