We believe that women and girls can and do excel in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). We are building a community to tell the stories of women in STEM, showcase Women’s STEM organizations, and provide a platform where ladies can help ladies succeed in STEM careers.

Scientists study everything from the particles that make up matter to structures that construct the universe. Science offers diverse fields of study, such as biology, botany, ecology, physics, chemistry, oceanography, geology, meteorology, and zoology.
Technology solves problems or performs specific functions by making, modifying, and using tools, machines, techniques, systems and methods of organization. Current technology usually involves computers, but technology has existed since humans learned to control fire.
Engineers apply scientific knowledge, mathematics and creativity to develop solutions to technical problems. There are many different types of engineers, including: biological, materials, civil, environmental, structural, electrical, computer, mechanical, aerospace, industrial, and nuclear.
Mathematicians create new models to understand and solve real-world problems. Mathematicians solve practical problems in fields such as business, government, engineering and the sciences.

Hello World!

LP-logo-webWelcome to Lady Paragons! We are building a community to tell the stories of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), provide resources to women and girls interested in STEM careers, and provide a platform where ladies can help ladies succeed.

Women and girls can and do excel in STEM and we built this site to showcase these ladies and help other ladies succeed.

While we were are working on many different features for the site, the following are currently available:

  • The Ladies of STEM blog — telling stories of Women in STEM, promoting Women’s STEM organizations, and highlighting events.
  • STEM Events — a calendar of STEM events around the country.  We are still adding to the calendar (there are a lot of organizations!), but if you have an event you’d like to add, please use our Submit a STEM Event link (we review all submissions, so give us a few days).
  • STEM Resources — a directory of STEM organizations and websites dedicated to helping women and girls.  We are also still working on adding more resources, but, please feel free to Submit a STEM Resource.

Soon-to-be-released features include a podcast, job page, Facebook page, and store.  We’re also working on a community platform for ladies to help ladies — be it with tutoring, mentoring, or coding a website.

We hope you’ll join our community and follow us on twitter.  Thanks for visiting!
